The Types of Fedora Hat
Tear drop crown fedora
Also known as waterdrop or peach heart, you also probably see the name "c crown" somewhere, don’t doubt, it’s the same shape we are talking about. This c-crown is narrow in the front but more rounded at the back. With the smooth edge there is a more lower profile on the top of the crown. It makes the entire outline looks smooth without angular.
Dimond crown fedora
This look is almost recognizable at a glance, as it has four folds different from other smooth-looking shapes. A raised point in the crown head section is connected to the three raised points at the back end of the hat by deliberately shaped folds, and the overall pattern resembles the shape of the kite.
Center dent crown fedora

Make and Form of Fedora Hat
Fedoras are usually made by pressing a piece of felt over a mold, and using some kind of heat or sealant to help the felt keep its shape. In the past, molds were created by using a series of wooden blocks to create the shape of the hat, and the felt was pressed on with an iron. The current method is to use metal molds and machinery to create enough pressure to form the shape of the hat. After the general shape of the hat has been achieved, the hat makers attach some sort of decoration, usually a ribbon, between the brim and the crown of the hat. The brim is either left raw, or hemmed. The fedora is considered a soft hat, which means that it is usually constructed from felt, fur, or animal hides. There are variations from hat to hat, but the standard design includes a creased crown, angled brim, a pinch at the top of the hat, and some sort of decoration above the brim of the hat. Men's fedoras especially tend to have stylized brims with edges that are turned down in the front and up in the back. As mentioned earlier, the width of the brim, overall size and color of the hats are subject to change with fashion trends. Women's hats also tend to have more elaborate decorations and slimmer designs.

How to Wear a Fedora Hat
A fedora hat, also known as a snap-brim hat, is a type of hat that has a shallow indented crown and a pinch near the front. It also has a round brim that is wider than the narrower-brimmed trilby hat. Because of the soft brim of the fedora, it can be worn completely angled down, turned up or, most traditionally, up in the back and down in the front in the elegant and classic “wave” shape. The ability to adjust the brim to the wearer's personal preference earned it the nickname "snap brim” and the same fedora can give the wearer several different looks, depending on the occasion or outfit.
